The Learn Legal Research Mission
Ellen Callinan vowed to change the way legal research was taught after suffering through first year legal research and writing herself. She pursued this goal throughout her career by:
- creating the National Legal Research Teach In to encourage law firms to conduct research training every spring;
- initiating and editing Core Legal Research Competencies, a compendium of research skills for attorneys;
- writing and speaking about improving legal research training methods; and,
- teaching legal research in a variety of settings.
Along with her LLR colleagues, Ellen is determined to bring the training model she's developed to law firms, law schools, corporate legal departments, government lawyers, bar associations, and other legal groups who want to enjoy legal research.
